Target Audience - Dredd (2012)

In the Marketing of the movie Dredd, a spin off website was made off of the Drudge Report, called the Dredd Report to promote the movie. Featuring a lot of joke lines and fake ads involving the movie and it's world. There's also some fake news articles on the website that are designed to add to the movie's lore and get readers interested in learning more of the world itself via the movie and comics (Dredd Report). This is where the next part comes from, as a Prequel Comic was made as a prologue for the film. Showing how it centralized around fans of the comics and promoted their hype, potentially using them to spread the word of the Dredd movie. A poster was also made, teasing the movie. With an emphasis to the color red in contrast to black, teasing the film to have an attitude designed to be serious and potentially bloody. All these examples tied in with the trailer that was released showed that the main audience for supposed to be for late teens and adults in general who enjoyed the franchise or want to learn more of it. Marketing campaigns had focused on creating material which older people would enjoy and not so much with younger generations.
