Research - Opening of Back to the Future (1985)

    Within the first couple of minutes within the movie, it pans over series among series of clocks, ranging from the old clocks until it gets towards the end to a much more modern looking clock. What one could get from this scene is not only does the only have a lot of clocks, but how it acts as a transition of time from old to new, which will become the main theme of the story. As the camera continues to pan and tilt, there's what appears to be many gadgets and gizmos designed to do an automated task. However, as seen with the dog food, the place seemed to have been abandoned for a while. Then the scene ends as the view of the main character's feet come into view.

   There are no jobs said in the opening credits; as for the film's budget, it had cost 19 million USD to make and had made over 381.1 million USD, a much larger disparity than the previous films analyzed. It has won an Oscar for Best Effects, Sound Effects Editing; and has been nominated for Best Writing, Screenplay Written Directly for the Screen, Best Sound, and Best Music, Original Song. The film was also nomiated Golden Globes for Best Motion Picture - Comedy or Musical, Best Performance by an Actor in a Motion Picture - Comedy or Musical, Best Screenplay - Motion Picture, and Best Original Song - Motion Picture. As for BAFTA Awards, it was nominated for Best Editing, Best Film, Best Screenplay - Original, Best Production Design, and Best Special Visual Effects. And for Saturn Awards, it won for Best Science Fiction Film, Best Actor, and Best Special Effects. It was also nominated for Best DVD Collection, Best DVD Classic Film Release, Best Supporting Actor; twice, Best Supporting Actress, Best Direction, Best Music, and Best Costumes. Even in Japan, it has won the award for Best Foreign Language Film. The Film also was nominated an Artios for Best Casting for Feature Film, Comedy. It also won David di Donatello Awards for Best Foreign Producer, and Best Foreign Screenplay. The Film had also won and was nominated for more numerous kinds of awards, although these listed should be enough to see it's success.
