Research - Opening to Wall-E (2008)
Within the first couple of minutes of Wall-E, you are first thrown in space, traveling through the cosmos towards Earth there's a series of short takes just to showcase different parts of the Universe. Then a sequence into Earth is made with multiple fades as it continues to speed through a ruined Earth riddled with trash and a polluted atmosphere. The music changes the entire feel though as it's an old kind of early 1900s styled music with a cheery look on adventure despite the current state of the Earth, summarizing the feel of the movie and giving a bit of foreshadowing with the future events to come. As he enter the atmosphere, we're presented piles among piles of trash and presented a long shot of the movie's main character. The reason for this is likely to show how vast the amount of trash is and how they're just another robot doing their duty. This line of thinking is broken though with the scene ending on the droid named Wall-E taking out a piece of trash which interests him despite his job being to compact all forms of trash into their piles. This in turn gives a characterization of this Wall-E unit telling us its not like the rest.
There's no real opening credits to this movie. As for budget, the film cost 180 million USD to make and made a gross of 533.3 million USD. The film had won an Oscar for Best Animated Feature Film of the Year and was nominated for Best Writing, Original Screenplay, Best Achievement in Music Written for Motion Pictures, Original Score & Song, Best Achievement in Sound Mixing & Sound Editing. It had also won the Golden Globe for Best Animated Film and was Nominated for Best Original Song - Motion Picture. As for BAFTA Awards, it won one for Best Animated Film and Best Children's Feature Film. It was also Nominated for Best Sound and a Anthony Asquith Award for Film Music. For Saturn Awards, it won one for Best Animated Film and was Nominated for Best Director. It had won the Movie of the Year Award from AFI Awards. It had won 47 awards and was nominated for over 82.
