Research - Opening to Forbidden Planet (1956)

For the first couple minutes of Forbidden Planet, instead of establishing much of a story at the start, it comes off as very militaristic where instructions are ordered and the sci-fi aspects are rather emphasized. There's practically no story progression and mainly aids to telling the viewer that a space crew is traveling somewhere which requires light speed. There are tilts, but these serve to mainly follow who is the leader of the band of space explorers and to keep tracking with his sayings and nothing else. Setting has been glamorously made however, giving viewers the notion that what they're using really is futuristic, and their uniforms help to further show that the future tends to have a lot of order when it comes to crews manning spacecrafts. From my source, there's no opening credits.

In regards to its budget, the film's cost was approximately 1.9 million USD and had made 3,250,000 USD over the years. Making over 2 million in it's first year. The film has been nomiated for Best Effects, Special Effects for the US Academy Awards. It was also nominated a Saturn Award for Best DVD Classic Film Release. The Film has also won the National Film Registry Award without any specifics towards what.
